Broadsheet — theme manual
Documentation for merchants using the Broadsheet theme. This is the source of truth; the published version is what gets linked from the Theme Store listing.
Broadsheet is built for fashion and apparel stores that want an editorial, typography-led storefront. It ships with Oswald for display type and Archivo for body text, square corners, hairline rules, and a single saturated accent.
Before you start
Broadsheet looks its best with a small amount of preparation. Three things are worth doing before you open the theme editor.
Pick your images. The theme leans on large photography. Hero and banner images should be at least 2400px wide. Product images work best in a consistent aspect ratio — portrait 4:5 is the default the theme assumes.
Set up your menus. Go to Content → Menus and create the navigation you want. Broadsheet uses up to five: a main menu in the header, three menus in the footer, and an optional menu on the 404 page.
Decide on your accent colour. One colour carries the whole theme. It is used sparingly and deliberately, so pick something with conviction.
Installing
From the Theme Store, click Try theme. Shopify adds Broadsheet to Online Store → Themes as an unpublished theme. Customize it there and publish when you are ready — your live storefront is untouched until you do.
Theme settings
These apply everywhere. Find them in the theme editor under Settings (the gear icon at the bottom of the sidebar).
Typography
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Display font | Headings and large editorial text. Default: Oswald. |
| Body font | Everything else. Default: Archivo. |
| Display size scale | Scales all headings together, 80–120%. Lower it if your headings feel shouty; raise it for a bolder look. |
| Uppercase display text | On by default. Turning it off keeps headings in sentence case. |
The display font is the theme's personality. If you change it, prefer a condensed face — the layouts assume headings are narrow enough to run long.
Colours
Broadsheet uses a colour palette: six named colours defined once and reused across every section.
| Name | Default | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Ink | #101010 |
Text, dark backgrounds |
| Paper | #FFFFFF |
Page background, text on dark |
| Accent | #002FA7 |
The one saturated colour |
| Muted | #6B6B6B |
Secondary text |
| Line | #E6E4E0 |
Hairlines and borders |
| Bone | #F4F2EE |
Alternate section backgrounds |
Below the palette, Global colours map those names to roles. Change the palette to restyle the whole theme at once; change the global colours if you want a role to use a different palette entry.
A word on the accent: it appears on the newsletter submit, focus states, and form errors. It is deliberately rare. If you set it to something close to your background it will disappear — the theme does not fix contrast for you.
Layout
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Brand name | Used for the oversized wordmark in the footer and on the gift card and password pages. Leave it empty to use your store name. |
| Favicon | The small icon in the browser tab. A square image, at least 96×96px. |
| Page width | How wide content runs on large screens. Default 110rem (1760px). |
| Page margin | Minimum space between content and the screen edge. Default 24px. |
| Section spacing | Vertical space between sections. Default 96px. |
Buttons and inputs
Corner radius for buttons and inputs, both 0 by default. Broadsheet is designed
square. Rounding the corners works, but it softens the whole theme — change
both together or the mismatch shows.
Cart
These three sit in the global settings rather than on the cart section, because they show up in both the cart page and the cart drawer.
Free shipping bar. Show free shipping bar draws a progress bar towards a threshold you set in Free shipping from. The number is in your store's currency, and it is display only — Broadsheet does not create the shipping rate for you. Set up the matching free rate in Settings → Shipping and delivery, or the bar promises something checkout will not honour.
Add-on products. Pick a Collection of small, cheap, easy-to-say-yes-to items and they appear above the cart lines with a quick-add button. Anything already in the cart is skipped. Leave the collection empty and the rail does not appear at all.
Reviews. Show a customer quote puts a short rotating quote beside the checkout button. You write the three quotes yourself, with a rating and an author for each. These are quotes you choose to feature, the same as the testimonials section — they are not a review system, and they do not read from customer reviews.
Animations
Enable animations turns hover and reveal transitions on or off across the theme. Visitors whose system asks for reduced motion get no animation regardless of this setting.
Social media
Six fields: Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, X, YouTube, Facebook. Paste the full profile URL. Empty fields are hidden — the footer only shows links you fill in, and the social column disappears entirely if you fill in none.
Header
| Setting | Notes |
|---|---|
| Logo, Logo width | Leave the logo empty to use your store name as type. |
| Menu | Main navigation. Supports one level of dropdown. |
| Show collection images in menus | See Mega menu below. |
| Customer account menu | Links inside the account area. |
| Sticky header | Header follows the page as visitors scroll. |
| Transparent header on home page | Overlays the header on the first section in white. Needs a full-height image or video hero behind it. Turns solid after 24px of scroll. |
| Open cart in a drawer | Adding a product slides the cart in from the side instead of leaving the page. The cart page stays available either way. |
| Show search, Show wishlist | Icon toggles. |
| Enable search suggestions | Products, articles and pages appear in the search overlay as a visitor types. Turning it off leaves a plain search field that submits to the results page. |
| Wishlist page | See Wishlist — this needs a page you create yourself. |
Transparent header caveat. If your first home section is text on a light background, white header text will be unreadable. The setting assumes a dark image behind it.
Mega menu
With Show collection images in menus on, a dropdown whose links all point at collections opens as a full-width panel showing each collection's image instead of a plain list. Dropdowns that point at pages stay a list — there is nothing to show.
So the switch that controls this is really your menu. To get a mega menu, build a dropdown of collections in Content → Menus, and give each of those collections an image in your admin. A collection without an image falls back to its first product's photo.
Announcement bar
The strip above the header. It holds as many announcements as you add — each one is a block with text and an optional link.
| Setting | Notes |
|---|---|
| Display style | Carousel, Marquee or Static. |
| Change every | Carousel only: seconds each announcement holds before the next. |
| Marquee speed | Marquee only: how fast the text travels. |
| Background, Text | Defaults to ink and paper. |
Carousel fades between announcements and gives visitors arrows to step through them by hand. Marquee runs everything past in one continuous line — good for one short line, cluttered with four. Static shows the first announcement and nothing else, which is what you want when you have exactly one thing to say.
Announcements stop moving on their own for visitors whose system asks for reduced motion.
Footer
| Setting | Notes |
|---|---|
| Newsletter heading | The large text above the sign-up field. |
| Newsletter text | One line under the heading. Say what people are signing up for. |
| Menu, Secondary menu, Third menu | Three link lists, each becoming a column. |
| Social links style | Names or icons. Icons are quieter; names read better in a text-led footer. |
| Show country/region selector | Only appears if your store sells in more than one country. |
| Show payment icons | Shows the payment methods you accept. |
| Tagline | A short line under the brand line. One sentence about the shop. |
| Show brand line | Your brand name as oversized outlined type across the bottom, with your social links on the same line. |
| Background, Text | Defaults to ink and paper. |
The footer lays out as newsletter plus up to three menu columns, with the brand line and social links as a band underneath. Columns you leave empty simply do not appear — but a footer with only the newsletter filled in will look sparse. Fill at least one menu and a couple of social links.
Give the three menus different links. Two columns of the same menu is the easiest way to make a footer look unfinished, and it is easy to do by accident because every link list setting offers your main menu.
Home page
The home page is built from sections you add, reorder and remove. Every section below can be added from Add section in the theme editor.
Hero
The opening statement. Supports an image or a video.
| Setting | Notes |
|---|---|
| Image / Video | Video replaces the image and plays muted on a loop. |
| Height | Full screen, large, or medium. |
| Alignment | Where the text sits. |
| Eyebrow, Heading, Text | The heading accepts line breaks — use them. |
| Invert headline over image | The headline inverts against the photo behind it. Striking over busy images, invisible over flat mid-greys. |
| Overlay opacity | Darkens the image so text stays readable. |
| Header shading | A gradient behind the header only. Use it when the transparent header sits over a bright part of the photo and the white nav is hard to read — it darkens the top of the hero without darkening the whole image the way overlay opacity does. |
| Buttons | Up to two. Fill in the first label and link before the second; a lone secondary button reads as a mistake. |
Videos have no default — the platform cannot ship one. Upload yours under Content → Files first, then pick it here.
Featured collection
A grid of products from one collection.
| Setting | Notes |
|---|---|
| Collection | Which products to show. |
| Eyebrow, Heading | Leave the heading blank to use the collection title. |
| Products to show, Columns on desktop | |
| Layout | Uniform grid, or first product highlighted at double size. |
| Show vendor, Show "View all" link |
Collection tabs
Several collections as tabbed carousels. Each tab is a block with a collection and an optional custom label. Good for "New in / Outerwear / Sale" without stacking three separate sections.
Editorial split
Image on one side, copy on the other. The brand-story section.
Lookbook
Shoppable images. Add one image, or two for a paired spread. Each hotspot is a block: pick a product, choose which of the two images it pins to, and position it with the horizontal and vertical sliders. Hotspots open on tap and work without JavaScript.
Position values are percentages of the image, so they hold when the image resizes. Check them on mobile — a hotspot near an edge shifts to stay on screen.
With one image the Pin on image setting has nothing to do; leave it on the first image. With two, a hotspot pinned to an image you later remove has nowhere to go and stops appearing.
Promo banners
A wall of category banners. The first block becomes the large featured banner; the rest fill a grid beside it. On mobile the featured banner goes on top and the others become squares.
Marquee
A line of scrolling text. Solid or outlined. Outlined is the theme's signature treatment — it reads as a hairline rather than a headline.
Testimonials
Customer quotes. Each quote is a block with the quote text and an author.
Featured blog
The most recent articles from a blog. See Blog.
Newsletter
An email sign-up with its own background. Subscribers land in Customers.
Custom section
An empty section you fill with theme blocks. Use it when nothing else fits.
Sections you can add anywhere
Three sections are worth calling out because they are not home-page furniture. They are most at home on a product page, but they carry a preset, so they can be added to any template.
Trust bar
A row of short reassurances — free returns, secure checkout, made in-house. Each is a block with an icon, a heading and a line of text, and the section has a background colour of its own.
Keep it to four or five. It works as a quiet band of reassurance and stops working the moment it looks like a list of claims.
FAQ
Questions and answers as an accordion, with Open by default per question.
Beyond saving the customer a message, this section emits FAQPage structured
data, which is what lets a search engine show your answers directly. That only
works if the questions are real ones, phrased as a customer would ask them.
Reviews
A heading, a summary of the product's rating, and review blocks in columns — stars, author, date, text, an optional photo, and a Mark as verified badge.
These are reviews you choose to feature, the same as the testimonials
section. You write them; the theme does not collect them, and marking one
verified does not verify anything. Real customer reviews come from a review app,
and this section accepts app blocks for exactly that. Judge.me and Shopify's own
product reviews both write the standard reviews.rating metafields that the
summary and the star ratings across the theme read from.
If you are using a review app, use the app's block here and delete the review blocks, rather than running both.
Product page
| Setting | Notes |
|---|---|
| Layout | Standard, or Editorial which overlays an oversized title on the gallery edge. |
| Gallery layout | Stacked shows every image at once in a two-column mosaic, with the first image spanning both. Thumbnails shows one image at a time with a thumbnail strip. |
| Thumbnail position | Left of the image, or below it. Thumbnails layout only. |
| Enable image zoom | Customers click an image to open it large. |
| Pre-select the first variant | On, the page opens with the first available variant chosen. Off, nothing is selected and the customer has to pick before adding to cart. Turn it off when the choice matters — a colour worth deciding on rather than defaulting into. |
| Sticky add-to-cart on mobile | A floating bar with price and add-to-cart appears once the buy box scrolls away. |
Everything else is a block
The column beside the gallery is built from blocks you can reorder, remove and add: vendor, badge, title, short description, price, rating, SKU, variant picker, quantity, buy buttons, description, accordion, product details, note, and custom Liquid. Drag them in the theme editor to change the order.
That is also how you hide something. There is no "show vendor" switch — remove the vendor block instead.
Notes on individual blocks:
- Badge sits above the title. With Show "Sale" automatically on it fills itself in whenever the product has a compare-at price; otherwise it prints whatever you type — New, Pre-order, Last pieces.
- Short description takes the first few words of your product description and adds a "Read more" that opens the description accordion. Set how many words. It is a summary above the fold, not a second copy of the description.
- Rating shows stars and a review count, read from the standard
reviews.ratingmetafields. Without a review app writing those, it shows nothing rather than showing zero. - Variant picker carries the Size guide link: pick a page and a link appears on the size option's own row, opening that page's content in a side drawer. It stays an ordinary link underneath, so it still works without JavaScript.
- Quantity stands down on its own when Buy buttons is already showing a quantity input beside the button. Two quantity fields on one page would leave the page bound to whichever came first.
- Buy buttons carries the dynamic checkout button (Shop Pay, PayPal and the wallets a customer already uses). Turn it off in the block's settings if you want add-to-cart alone.
- Product details is the icon row of short facts — fabric, fit, origin. Labels, values and icons are comma-separated lists, read in order, so all three need the same number of entries. What you type here belongs to the template, not to the product, so every product using this template shows the same facts. That is what you want for a coherent range — all cotton, all made in the same place — and wrong the moment the range stops being coherent. See One template is not always enough.
- Note is one line of rich text for a promise that belongs beside the button: free returns, made to order, ships in 48 hours.
- Title renders nothing on the Editorial layout, which already prints the title as a banner above the gallery.
Apps on the product page
The product section accepts app blocks. Apps you install that offer a product-page block — size charts, reviews, financing widgets — appear under Add block and can sit anywhere in the column.
The custom Liquid block is the escape hatch for anything that gives you a snippet instead of a block. Invalid Liquid stops the page rendering, so paste carefully.
Accordions
Shipping information, size guides, care instructions. Each is a block with a title, rich text content, and whether it starts open. Two ship by default — edit or delete them.
Colour swatches
Swatches appear automatically when a product has an option named Color, Colour or Cor. Shopify draws the swatch from the option value's colour or image if you have set one; otherwise it falls back to reading the value name as a colour. "Ivory" and "Olive" work. "Summer Breeze" does not — set a swatch value on that option in Settings → Products instead.
Product media
Images, video and 3D models are all supported in the gallery. The variant picker switches the gallery to a variant's featured image when one is set.
A second product template
Broadsheet ships two: the default and product.editorial. Assign the editorial one to individual products from the product page in your admin, under Theme template.
One template is not always enough
Block content lives on the template, not on the product. Product details, accordions and notes say the same thing on every product that shares a template.
For a range cut from the same cloth in the same place, that is a feature: you write the care instructions once. For a mixed catalogue it goes wrong quickly, and the symptom is comic — a gift card that claims to be 100% cotton poplin, or a candle with a size guide.
The fix is a template per family. In Online Store → Themes → Customize, use
the template menu at the top of the product page to Create template, base
it on the default, and give it a name like accessories or gift-card. Set
its blocks for that family, then assign it to those products from the product
page in your admin under Theme template.
Three or four templates covers most shops. If you find yourself wanting a different value per product rather than per family, that is a metafield, not a template — and the custom Liquid block can render one.
Product cards
The card is the same everywhere a product appears — home page grids, the collection page, search results, recommendations, the wishlist. It is not a section, so it has no settings of its own; everything on it is drawn from the product.
| On the card | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Second image on hover | The product's second image. Products with one image simply do not swap. |
| Sale badge | A compare-at price on the product. |
| Sold out badge | No variant available. |
| Colour swatches | An option named Color, Colour or Cor. Up to four show, then a "+2" count. |
| Stars | The standard reviews.rating metafields, which a review app writes. |
| Wishlist heart | Always there when the wishlist is on in the Header. |
| Quick add | Adds single-variant products straight to the cart; products with options open a compact picker. |
| Short description | List view on the collection page only, where there is room for it. |
None of this needs setting up beyond the product data itself. If a badge or a swatch is missing, the answer is in the product, not the theme: no compare-at price, no option named Color, no review metafield.
Collection page
| Setting | Notes |
|---|---|
| Show image banner | Uses the collection image, falling back to the first product's photo. |
| Height, Overlay opacity | For the banner. |
| Products per page, Columns on desktop | |
| Show collection description, Show vendor | |
| Enable filtering | See below. |
| Enable sorting |
Customers can also switch between 2, 3 and 4 columns or a list view. That choice is remembered on their device.
Filters need an app
Enable filtering turns on the filter drawer, but the filters themselves come from Shopify's free Search & Discovery app. Without it you get only Availability and Price.
Install Search & Discovery, open it, go to Filters, and add the product options you want — Colour and Size are the usual ones. They appear in the drawer immediately, with swatches for colour options.
Cart
Broadsheet gives you a cart page and a cart drawer. The drawer is on by default and set in the Header section, not the cart section.
| Setting | Notes |
|---|---|
| Show a customer quote | The rotating quote beside the checkout button. The quotes themselves are written in Settings → Cart. |
| Show discount code field | A code field above the subtotal. |
| Empty cart button link | Where the empty state's button goes. Defaults to all products. |
Three more things appear in the cart and are configured globally, in Settings → Cart: the free shipping bar, the add-on product rail, and the text of the customer quotes. They are global because the drawer shows them too, and the drawer has no section of its own.
What appears where
The drawer is deliberately lighter than the page. It is a confirmation that something went into the cart, not a place to finish an order.
| Cart page | Drawer | |
|---|---|---|
| Line items, quantity, remove | Yes | Yes |
| Free shipping bar | Yes | Yes |
| Add-on products | Yes | Yes |
| Discount code field | Yes | No |
| Shipping estimate | Yes | No |
| Customer quote | Yes | Yes |
| Recommendations section | Yes | No |
Discount codes
The field validates the code against your store and shows what it is worth, but the discount itself is applied at checkout — that is where Shopify calculates it. A code that turns out not to apply to the items in the cart says so there, not here.
Shipping estimate
Cart page only. The customer picks a country, and where the country needs one, a province and a postal code; the theme asks Shopify for the same rates checkout would use and lists them. If no rate comes back, that is your shipping setup telling you it does not serve that address.
Add-on products
Pick the collection in Settings → Cart. Its products appear above the cart lines as a small rail with a quick-add button, and anything already in the cart is skipped so nobody is offered what they just added.
Keep this collection small and cheap. It works for the things people forget — socks, a care kit, a gift box — and it works against you when it is full of £200 coats.
Free shipping bar
Set the threshold in Settings → Cart. The bar fills as the cart total climbs and flips to "free shipping unlocked" when it clears.
It is display only. Create the matching free shipping rate in Settings → Shipping and delivery or the bar will promise something checkout does not deliver.
Cart recommendations
A full section under the cart lines, added and configured like any other section. It suggests from the first product in the cart — the thing the shopper committed to first, which the rest of the order usually builds around.
| Setting | Notes |
|---|---|
| Eyebrow, Heading | The text above the row. |
| Based on | Complementary products, or related ones. Complementary needs the products set up in Search & Discovery; related is worked out by Shopify. |
| Fallback collection | Shown when Shopify has nothing to recommend, which is what happens on a new store with no order history. Leave it empty and the seed product's own collection is used. |
| Products to show |
Quick add
Product cards across the theme have a quick-add control. Single-variant products add straight to the cart; products with options open a compact picker. It works in the grid, in list view, and on the highlighted card.
Blog and articles
Blog page
| Setting | Notes |
|---|---|
| Intro text | Rich text under the blog title. |
| Feature the latest article | The newest post runs larger at the top of page one. |
| Show topic filter | Chips built from your article tags. |
| Articles per page, Columns on desktop, Image ratio | |
| Show date, author, excerpt, tags |
The topic filter is built from tags, so tag your articles consistently. Three to five recurring tags work better than a long tail of one-offs.
Article page
The article is built from four blocks you can reorder or remove: header, featured image, content and share.
| Block | Settings |
|---|---|
| Article header | Alignment, and whether to show date, author and reading time. |
| Image | Full-width cover, and its height. |
| Content | Drop cap on the first paragraph, like a print magazine. |
| Share | Facebook, X and Pinterest links, plus an optional copy-link button. |
Reading time is estimated from the word count. Article structured data is emitted automatically for search engines.
Comments are configured per blog in your admin, under Content → Blog posts → Manage blogs. The theme handles both moderated and auto-published comments, and shows the right notice for each.
Search
| Setting | Notes |
|---|---|
| Enable search suggestions | Suggestions on the search results page. The header has a setting of the same name that covers the overlay behind the search icon — they are separate, so turn on both. |
| Show result type filter | Tabs for All, Products, Journal and Pages. |
| Results per page, Columns on desktop, Show vendor | |
| Suggested links | Shown before a search is made and when nothing matches. Defaults to your main menu. |
Pages
Standard pages
| Setting | Notes |
|---|---|
| Show page title, Eyebrow, Title size | |
| Content width | Narrow holds text to a comfortable reading measure. Wide suits pages that are mostly images or tables. |
Leave the width on Narrow for anything people actually read. Long lines are the fastest way to make a good page unreadable.
Contact page
Broadsheet ships a page.contact template with a contact form. Create a page in Content → Pages, then set its theme template to contact. Messages arrive at the sender address in Settings → Notifications.
| Setting | Notes |
|---|---|
| Heading | Above the form. |
| Show phone field | Optional on the form. Asking for a phone number costs you replies, so leave it off unless you actually call people. |
| Store details: Heading, Address, Phone, Email, Opening hours | The card beside the form. Fill in only what you want public — each line is hidden when empty, and the whole card disappears if you empty all of them. |
| Show map, Map address, Map embed link | See below. |
The map. Shopify does not host maps, so Broadsheet takes an embed link from a map provider. Find your shop on a map service, choose its share or embed option, and paste the embed URL into Map embed link. Map address is what the "Get directions" link opens, and it can be plain text — the street address is enough.
Leave Map embed link empty and the map area stays blank, so turn Show map off until you have the link.
Wishlist
The wishlist saves products in the visitor's own browser — no account needed, and nothing is stored on your side.
You have to create the page. In Content → Pages, add a page called
Wishlist, set its theme template to wishlist, and save. Then, if the URL is
anything other than /pages/wishlist, point the header's Wishlist page
setting at it.
Because it is stored per browser, a customer's wishlist does not follow them to another device.
404 page
Leads with a search field, since a dead end is a navigation problem. Add a Menu to offer your own links; leave it blank and customers get a single link to all products.
Gift cards and the password page
Gift card
The gift card page shows the balance, the code, and a QR code to scan in store. Customers can copy the code, print the card, or add it to Apple Wallet where supported. It prints cleanly in black on white.
To preview it, open the theme editor and pick Others → Gift card from the template dropdown at the top.
Password page
What visitors see while your store is closed.
| Setting | Notes |
|---|---|
| Logo, Logo width | Falls back to your store name. |
| Eyebrow, Heading | The heading accepts line breaks. |
| Show email sign-up | Collects emails while you are closed. Subscribers are tagged prospect and password page. |
| Show store name as artwork | Your store name as oversized outlined type, cropped by the bottom edge. |
| Banner image, Overlay opacity | Optional photograph behind everything. |
| Background, Text |
Store owners get in through the disclosure at the bottom of the page.
Image guidelines
| Where | Recommended size | Ratio |
|---|---|---|
| Hero | 2400 × 1600 or larger | Wide; the section crops to fit |
| Product images | 1600 × 2000 | 4:5 portrait |
| Collection banner | 2400 × 1000 | Wide |
| Promo banners | 1200 × 1500 | 4:5 for the featured, square for the rest |
| Editorial split | 1200 × 1500 | 4:5 |
| Lookbook | 2000 × 2500 | Tall enough for hotspots to have room |
| Article cover | 2400 × 1350 | 16:9 |
| Logo | 400px wide, transparent PNG or SVG |
Shopify serves resized versions automatically, so upload large and let the platform do the work. Do not upload images with text baked into them — the Theme Store does not allow it in demo stores, and it does not translate.
Troubleshooting
My filters only show Availability and Price. Install the free Search & Discovery app and add filters there. See Filters need an app.
The wishlist page is empty or 404s. You need to create the page yourself and assign the wishlist template. See Wishlist.
The header is invisible over my hero. Transparent header draws in white. Either use a darker image, raise the hero's overlay opacity, or turn off Transparent header on home page.
My colour swatches are grey or missing. The option value name has to be a recognisable colour, or the option needs a swatch value set in Settings → Products. See Colour swatches.
The hero video does not play. Upload it under Content → Files first, then select it in the hero settings. Videos play muted and looped; browsers block autoplay with sound.
My headings are too big. Lower Display size scale in Settings → Typography rather than editing sections one by one.
The free shipping bar says free shipping, but checkout charges for it. The bar is display only. Create the matching free rate in Settings → Shipping and delivery — the theme cannot create it for you. See Free shipping bar.
The add-on rail above my cart is empty. Either no collection is picked in Settings → Cart, or everything in it is already in the cart — the rail hides what the shopper has.
The cart recommendations show the same fallback for everyone. Shopify has no recommendations to give yet. It learns from order history, so a new store falls back to the collection you picked. Setting complementary products in Search & Discovery gives it something to work with sooner.
The mega menu shows a plain list instead of images. The panel only appears for a dropdown whose links all point at collections. One page among them and it falls back to a list. See Mega menu.
No stars on my products.
Star ratings read the standard reviews.rating metafields, which a review app
writes. Without one there is nothing to show, so the theme shows nothing rather
than an empty five stars.
A product shows facts that belong to a different product. Product details, accordions and notes are written on the template and shared by every product using it. Give that family its own template. See One template is not always enough.
My map area is blank. Show map is on but Map embed link is empty. Paste the embed URL from your map provider, or turn the map off. See Contact page.
Getting help
If something here does not answer your question, write to us at broadsheet.fabra.dev/support. Include your store URL and, where possible, a screenshot — it makes a real difference to how fast this gets resolved.
We answer every message within two business days. Bugs in the theme itself — a broken layout, a dead link, a setting that does not do what this manual says — are ours to fix, and we fix them. Customisations beyond the theme's settings are not covered by support; for those, hiring a Shopify Partner is the right call, and duplicating your theme before anyone edits its code is the safe one.
